Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?

Yes. All international guests are required to travel with a valid passport. Please check your passport expiration date before your trip, as some airlines may require at least six months of validity.

 

Which airport should I fly into?

Please fly into Mérida International Airport (MID), also known as Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport. It is the closest airport to the wedding festivities.  Transportation from Cancun Airport with car rental is also an option if preferred.  The drive is roughly 3 hours across the peninsula on very good highways.

 

How far is the wedding venue from Mérida?

The venue is about minutes from downtown Mérida, depending on traffic. We recommend allowing extra travel time on the wedding day.  Shuttles to the wedding venue will also be arranged from a central pickup location.

 

Is Uber available in Mérida?

Yes! Uber is widely available throughout Mérida and is a convenient option for getting around the city.  Didi is another low cost and very good option in the city.  Please consider downloading the Didi app and creating an account in advance.

 

Should I rent a car?

A rental car is optional. If you’re staying in Mérida and only attending the wedding weekend events, Uber is usually sufficient. If you plan to explore nearby towns, cenotes, or archaeological sites, renting a car may be a good idea.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

We kindly ask guests to arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony begins to allow enough time for seating.

 

Are children welcome?

Generally the event will be adults only, with some family exceptions.

 

Can I bring a plus one?

Plus one will be specified on each invitation

 

Will the ceremony and reception be outdoors?

Yes

 

What will the weather be like in February?

February in Mérida is typically warm and pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 75–88°F (24–31°C). Evenings are usually comfortable, but a light shawl or jacket may be helpful.

What does «Formal Tropical» mean?

Formal tropical is attire that would feel comfortable to wear in tropical environments such as Merida yet formal in appearance.

 

What footwear is recommended for the hacienda grounds?

Open to guest discretion and similar to what you might wear at any hotel.

 

Will there be grass, gravel, or uneven surfaces?

Yes. Parts of the venue include grass, stone pathways, and historic hacienda flooring, so comfortable footwear is encouraged.

Where are most guests staying?

Most of our guests will be staying in downtown Mérida, where you’ll find a wide variety of hotels, restaurants, and attractions.  These hotel recommendations are clustered in one central area making for easy coordination and shuttle arrangements.

 

Are there room blocks or special rates available?

Is the tap water safe to drink?

We recommend drinking bottled or filtered water during your stay.

 

Do I need insect repellent?

Yes. While mosquitoes are generally not a major issue during the day, we recommend bringing insect repellent for the evening.

 

Are credit cards widely accepted?

Yes. Most hotels, restaurants, and shops accept major credit cards, though it’s always a good idea to carry a small amount of cash for local vendors and tips.
